3Dkoupe: Online store for cookie cutters and stamps

3Dkoupe is an online store that sells cookie cutters and stamps, all made in France using 3D printing with eco-friendly materials.

3Dkoupe was born from the collaboration between a young boy and his father. This young dad enjoyed using his 3D printer to create various toys, including cookie cutters for his son. Inspired by his son’s excitement as he saw new shapes appear in the cookie dough, our client had the idea to distribute and sell his creations.

The success of his cookie cutters allowed him to open his website.

Given the success of his business, our client turned to our communication agency to create a new e-commerce site to enhance his brand image and generate more traffic. Our agency rolled up its sleeves to create a new graphic charter, fresh visuals, SEO-friendly text, and a complete online store.

The 3Dkoupe project was centered around four main goals.

  • Redesigning 3Dkoupe to modernize the website interface.
  • Adding new features to simplify our client's work.
  • Increasing the average cart value, particularly by implementing cross-selling and offering 24-hour manufacturing.
  • Boosting revenue through better SEO and a more intuitive site (UI, UX).

Our team is organized in a way that allows graphic elements and text to be created in parallel with the development of the online store. As usual, we shared our work on a Drive, allowing our client to track our progress and provide personal images and specific information, such as the story behind the launch of 3Dkoupe.

Our client wanted to keep the store on PrestaShop. Our developers adapted to this and developed features that were not available on PrestaShop. For example, we implemented a menu to update a product in real-time based on changes made by the customer. This type of feature is ideal for our client, as they offer customizable cookie cutters and stamps. Still focused on improving the customer experience, we developed a module allowing customers to view the 3D printed products in three dimensions. Customer experience was a key factor, and our developers created additional plugins. They specifically focused on simplifying the search system so that customers could easily find their products. In addition, we improved the accuracy of delivery time estimates by taking into account new variables such as business days, manufacturing time, and geographic location.

We spoke with our client to understand how their previous website worked. Our goal was to improve our client's working conditions by making it easier for them to use PrestaShop. This is why part of the development focused on managing the store. We simplified the PrestaShop admin space using a plugin, allowing our client to manage their store more easily. Another feature developed allows invoices to be exported easily, which was not possible before.

The promotion of the site was done through several elements. First, by creating visuals that reflect the world of 3Dkoupe while adhering to the graphic charter we designed. Next, we highlighted the online store by writing SEO-friendly content. Present throughout the site, these texts not only provide additional details about the products but also establish the tone of the overall message conveyed by 3Dkoupe. This message is cheerful and emphasizes noble values such as friendliness, ecology, and sharing. Finally, to improve the image of the online store, our team developed a plugin to synchronize Etsy reviews on the homepage of 3Dkoupe.

To finalize the development of the site, our developers transferred the data from the old 3Dkoupe website so that our client could access all of their previous orders. We then optimized the site’s loading speed to ensure that visitors have the best possible user experience. We also wrote the descriptions for all the pages, further enhancing the site’s SEO. Finally, our graphic designer created a flyer template for our client to send along with their orders.

To ensure the security of the server, we implemented a Cloudflare service along with double backups to prevent potential data loss. We set up a dedicated server to optimize the performance of the 3Dkoupe online store. Additionally, we provided our client with an Excel file containing macros so they could manage the status of their orders on Etsy and Amazon (their different marketplaces). The client simply enters an order number, which then adds a tracking number and communicates with the marketplace API to update the order as processed. This process saves our client a lot of time. Finally, to ensure our client is truly in control of their site, we trained them to use PrestaShop effectively.

Now, our client can benefit from a brand-new online store. We really enjoyed working on this project, and we hope their business continues to thrive. From now on, the standard package we offer at IDNET for e-commerce has a face, and that face is 3Dkoupe.
